WONDERLAND: WINTER IN THE SCOTTISH BORDERS

This collection was shot in the Scottish Borders during the winter of 2009-10 - the most severe for almost half-a-century. For over two weeks during the Christmas period and into the New Year the Borders were under a deep covering of snow, night-time temperatures regularly fell below minus ten, schools shut, roads north to Edinburgh were sporadically closed and an unfamiliar stillness settled over everything. The landscape of the Scottish Borders, always attractive, never looked more beautiful. This collection is an attempt to capture some of that beauty.
